Phyllis Barratt
Following an early career in IBM, Phyllis has since worked mainly in training and development at a strategic level. Most recently, as Learning and Development Manager for Bechtel, the global construction and engineering organisation, where primary responsibilities included the development of executives with high potential, cross-cultural issues and coaching .She is now a full-time Executive Coach.
Phyllis brings to her coaching practice experience gained while working for a range of blue chip organisations in the UK. She has substantial experience of working with senior and middle managers in multi-national organisations across a range of industry sectors. She has a background in executive development and talent management as well as organisational development strategy and implementation.
Phyllis uses a range of coaching styles and development tools to respond to the specific and changing needs of the individual. Her focus is achieving agreed, measurable goals linked to business objectives. Although empathic in her approach, she is challenging when appropriate. By building on self-awareness, she enables her clients to develop the emotional intelligence necessary to achieve their objectives.
Phyllis has a Masters in Human Resource Development, and a Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring. She is an Associate member of APECS the Association of Executive Coaching and Supervision, and is working towards a Post Graduate Certificate in coaching supervision. She is also an External Moderator of the CIPD.
